(Cyprus, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Peter Nolan, Strategic Consultant at Digitain, made an evaluation of the current year and gave details about Digitain products. He also anticipated plans and expectations for 2021.

First, Nolan talked about the global situation: "Obviously 2020 has been dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on people and the economy. Initially the lockdown meant Digitain had to quickly enable a workforce of over 1700 to be able to work effectively from home. Quite a technological and HR challenge, and some fantastic work by the teams involved, as well as the great spirit shown by our Digitain people."
He also remarked: "The loss of live sports for a significant part of 2020 was a significant milestone – live sports in-play betting can account for over 70% of sportsbook revenues these days. We recognised quickly that we needed to act in order to mitigate the impact on our partners’ and our own revenues – and updated our product roadmap accordingly."
He then commented about Digitain products: "We integrated a number of additional products, from some great suppliers, including virtual sports and eSports. It was interesting to see a significant pick up in our network stakes on eSports during lockdown, although this reduced when live sports returned – we’re still seeing growth over 2019," and finally said: "As well as that we launched an industry-first, in record time given the complexity of the project; table football."
Nolan then remarked: "A tough year was rewarded recently when Digitain was honoured to receive the Employer of the Year 2020 Award at the recent SBC ceremony. A great way to end a challenging 12 months!"
"In terms of expectations for 2021, we hope to continue the expansion of our network that we saw in 2020. Our continuous improvement approach will ensure that we will develop our overall existing products and services as well as deliver new, innovative projects , attractive to both existing and new partners.
"In terms of developments for 2020, these include the grand opening of our new corporate headquarters; Digitown. As well as be the new home for our Digitain teams, Digitown will also be a campus for new Armenian tech start-ups, who will benefit from support and mentorship from Digitain".
Other significant projects to go live early in 2021 include the firm's new igaming platform and the live dealer casino.
"In terms of new markets – in 2021 we will be opening offices in Asia and Africa in order to support and expand our existing partner networks in those regions.
All in all – a very exciting year in prospect. On a personal note I look forward to be able to travel again and to go to beautiful Yerevan to catch up face-to-face with my colleagues there", he concluded.
